I have been back in Australia for at least four weeks, though it is difficult to tell. The days go by. Everything has changed, nothing has changed.

A friend in the Netherlands suggested that I write down all the Dutch words that I had learnt during the flight home. I am still completing the list, although the words I am most proud to have aquired are schragen (trestle) and gemeente(municipalty). Occasionally I feel that another language ghosts

People ask me whether it is good to be back, or whether I still wish I was away. I'm not sure, I can't tell.
